ASHEVILLE Betty Beatrice Sams Roberts, 81, of 133 Dorchester Avenue passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Brian Center of Weaverville. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mrs. Roberts was a daughter of the late Latt Sams and Minnie Soesbee Sams and wife of Clarence Paul Roberts who died August 28, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Archie Sams. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Roberts of Houston, TX and Denise Caldwell of Weaverville; sons, Michael Paul Roberts & wife Sandy of Candler and Robert Carroll Bob Roberts & wife Lori of West Asheville; grandchildren, Pamela Jenkins, Amy Ivy, Melissa Mason and Nicole Roberts; great grandchildren, Addie, Brayden and Ally; sister, Helen Price of Charlotte. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday prior to services at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the kindness and care given to our mother from the Brian Center of Weaverville.
