Betty Day Arrington

Betty Day Arrington, 88, of Enka went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 31, 2013. She was born on October 19, 1924 to the late Hiram Bertrand and Ethel Ruby Day. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence H. Arrington who passed away September 19, 1996. She is also preceded in death by her son-in-law Jack W. Dezern; a granddaughter, Donna Arrington; a great grandson, Michael Brandon Breedlove; and a great great grandson, Kaleb Dominick Smith. Betty is survived by three daughters: Carol Arrington Williams of Asheville, Linda Arrington Dezern of Candler, and Patricia Arrington Martin of New Port News, VA; a son, Lawrence H. Arrington, Jr. of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren: Lori Ann Breedlove, Kathleen Marie Kuebler, Lary Dezern, Christine Gail Pearce, Debbie Arrington, Danny Arrington, and Phillip Arrington; fourteen great grandchildren: Amanda, Jenny, Dakota, Tiana, Shea, Zach, Seth, Alyssa, Emily, P.J., Jr., Madison, Marshal, Krissy, and Nicholas; and two great great grandchildren: Jakoby, and Ellianna. Bettys love of her life was her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, to whom she was very devoted. Another great love of Bettys was our military veterans, and she gave contributions regularly to the Disabled Veterans of America and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a wonderful mother who will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 PM till 2 PM Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Lary Dezern, Phillip Martin, Danny Arrington, Willie Breedlove, Dakota Breedlove, Patricia Martin, Carol Williams, and Mark Whiteman.
