Betty Capps Fowler

Candler Betty Jean Calloway Capps Fowler, 78, of 23 Monte Vista Place went to be with the Lord Monday, October 3, 2011 at Aston Park Health Care Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She retired from Square D Corporation following over 25 years of service and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Fowler was a daughter of the late Zeb Franklin Calloway and Alley Bell Coleman Calloway and was the wife of James Denver Capps who died in 1975 and Jimmy Arthur Fowler who died in 1992. Surviving are her son, Ronnie Capps and wife Cindy of Candler; grandsons, Zeb and Zane Capps both of Candler; sisters, Jo Ann McMahan of Asheville and Thelma Calloway of Leicester; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery with Frank Hall, Kenny Buckner, Gary Penland, Terry McMahan, Jeff Pressley and Mike Calloway serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Zeb and Zane Capps. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Pole Creek Baptist Church, 96 Snow Hill Church Road, Candler, N.C. 28715.
