Bertha Swafford

Candler - Bertha Mae Thomas Ramsey Swafford, 66, of 12 Sagefield Drive died Tuesday May 3, 2005 after an extended illness. A native of Madison County, she lived in Buncombe County for the last 25 years. She was a member of Belva Baptist Church and was a daughter of the late Jesse and Jossie Roberts Thomas and the wife of the late Clyde Ramsey. Surviving are her sons, David Ramsey of Lawton, OK. and Dean Ramsey of Candler; daughters, Kim Fowler of Asheville and Kathy Smith of Candler; 5 sisters, 3 brothers, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Butch Stillwell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
