Beatrice Coates

Asheville Beatrice Vernon Pruett Coates,70, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Macon County and resident of Buncombe County since 1959. She, along with her husband, was Owner of Asheville Bear Creek RV Park and was formerly employed with UPS for 17 years and with Sears for 6 years. Mrs. Coates was a daughter of the late Buran Jason Pruett and Vernon Parish Pruett. Surviving are her husband, Harry Lee Coates, whom she married in 1967, of the home; sons, Sherrill Glenn Coates and wife Monica and Ricky Lee Coates and wife Heidi all of Asheville; grandchildren, Jessica and Dallas Coates and Mackenzie and Lauren Coates; sister, Billie Burt Potts and husband Ray of Franklin; brothers, Tom Pruett and wife Carmie of Franklin, Kenneth Pruett and wife Linda of Canton and Bill Pruett of Asheville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Pruett officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
