Barbara Ellen Baker

Barbara Ellen Baker, 76, of Leicester, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Barbara was a lifelong member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Ruth Leon Spivey. She was also preceded in death by her husband Virgil H. Baker. Surviving are children: Elsie Mae Baker, Jeanie Stack, Kathy Elizabeth Gordon, Timmothy Hunnicutt, and George L. Hunnicutt, Jr; sisters: Rebecca Brooks, Gracie Viola Campbell, Mary Nell Brown, Mae Poston, and Linda Rogers; a brother, Ray Cates; 6 granddaughters, and 5 grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday December 22, 2013 in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
