Candler – Barbara Sue Lamb Davis, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Mission Hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired in 2017 from Lake Junaluska Conference after 15 years of service. She was a longtime member of Abernethy United Methodist Church and went on several mission trips with the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Calvin Jackson “Bud” Lamb and Nora Marie Rice Lamb. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Amy Rachelle Davis Parris; her maternal grandmother, Leona Rice Clark; paternal grandmother, Sue Lamb; and brother, Charles Calvin Lamb.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Angela Renee Davis Terfas of Candler; grandchildren: Aaisha Terfas, Zaineb Terfas, Abdu Terfas, and Mazzy Simone Parris; former husband, Anthony “Tony” Davis of Asheville; brother Rick Vance Lamb of Candler; sister-in-law, Shirley Lamb of Fletcher; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Rev. Dianne Johnston will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
