Barbara Ann Howard

Leicester - Barbara Ann Gillen Howard, 62, of 3 Sammy Drive, went to be with her Lord & Savior Thursday, August 3, 2006 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a daughter of Mary Ruth Stamey Gillen of Asheville and the late Albert Austin Gillen, Sr. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Austin Gillen, Jr. Surviving in addition to her mother are her sons, Calvin Lee Gillen and Richard Anthony Gillen both of Fairview; daughters, Deanna Kimberly Davis of Candler and Michele Long and her husband, Robert of Leicester; sisters, Betty Jean Reed of Asheville and Debra Faroute of Swannanoa; brothers, Charles Otis Gillen of Atlanta, GA and Gary Lee Gillen of Weaverville; 9 grandchildren and 11 nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Robinson and Rev. Clyde Maybrey officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
