B J Freeman

Candler - Billy Joe BJ Freeman, 66, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Robbinsville, Mr. Freeman had resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He worked as an automotive mechanic, and was an avid fisherman. His greatest joy, however, was his grandchildren. Mr. Freeman was the son of the late John Zebedee and Isabel Chloe Stiles Freeman. He was also preceded in death by a son, Scott Freeman; and brother, Stanley Freeman. Surviving are his loving companion, Kay Ewart; son, Jonathan Freeman and wife Rhonda; granddaughters: Lindsay Nicole Freeman and Rebecca Freeman; former wife, Edith Ewart Freeman; brothers: Ricky, Stevie, and Randall; sister, Gerri; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Allen Winebarger officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 9:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
