Azalee Fowler Buckner

Asheville Azalee Fowler Buckner, 94, of 51 Skyview Terrace, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Buckner was the daughter of the late Fred Fowler and Martha Ellona Ball Fowler and wife of Baird Hughes Buckner who died May 19, 1979. Surviving are her daughter, Martha Sue Wood and husband William of Weaverville; son, Ronny Buckner and wife Brenda of Ft. Mill, SC; 6 Grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. James Staggs and Rev. Doug Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Roger, John, David, Greg, Mark and Chris. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:15 PM Wednesday at the church.
