Aslee Jones Ashe

Asheville - Aslee Odesamae Payne Jones Ashe, 82, of 74 Crestfield Avenue died Wednesday - December 21,2005 at St. Josephs Hospital after a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was formerly the resident manager of the Princess Ann Retirement Hotel for over 20 years. She was a daughter of the late Lon Rankin Payne and Mary Mae Morgan Payne and the wife of the late Clyde Gordon Jones who died in 1981 and the late Robert Shirley Ashe who died in 1995. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Surviving are her daughters, Gail Jones of Asheville, Linda Wood of Lake Junaluska and Nina Rice and husband Richard of Asheville; son, Michael Eugene Jones of Houston, TX; sister, Daisy Reed of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Cathy Haynes and husband Victor, Richard Rice and wife Christy, Lisa Rice, Tianna Miller and Raymond Wood and 2 great grandchildren, Lanae and Austin Haynes. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Sorrells officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
