Archie Lee Henderson

Asheville Archie Lee Henderson, 85, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the VA Medical Center. A native of Inman, SC, he had resided in Asheville for several years. He then lived in Miami, FL, before returning to Asheville in 1979. Mr. Henderson was the owner and operator of Henderson Rental Properties. He was a member of Erwin Hills SDA Church and was a graduate of Southern Missionary SDA in Collegedale, TN, where he studied the ministry. He was also a US Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Henderson was the son of the late George L. and Burnice Alexander Henderson. He was a loving husband and devoted Christian. Surviving are his wife, Deofinia Carreon Henderson, whom he married February 8, 1988; daughter, Lynn Anderson of Arden; grandson, Chris Allison of Arden; two great-grandchildren: Alex and Casey Allison; several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with Pastor Kenneth Blake and Pastor Gerald Mobley officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
