Annie Ward

CANDLER Julia Annie Hensley Ward, 94, of 29 Carolyn Drive passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Yancey County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a member of Glory Tabernacle Church. Mrs. Ward was the daughter of the late Rufus and Bashie Mae Hensley and wife of Charles Sylvester Ward who died July 30, 1982. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Charles Ward who died in 1955. Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Ward Ivey & husband Graham and Anna Worley all of Candler; grandchildren, Carl E. Redmon, Ken Ramsey and Shane Ramsey; great grandchildren, Charles L. Redmon, Levi Ramsey, Carson Ramsey and Kaycee Ramsey. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Pittman and Rev. Dr. Joe Yelton officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Monday prior to services at the funeral home.
