Annie Mae Malonson DeWeese, 93, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the N.C. State Veterans Home in Black Mountain. A native of Westport, MA, she resided in Buncombe County for 67 years. She was the daughter of the late George Malonson and Laura Sorrel Malonson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W. Herbert DeWeese, and 10 brothers and sisters. She was a Veteran of the US Air Force, and a member of the V.F.W. Post 891 Auxiliary. She retired from Square D after 22 years of service, and was a member of Elk Mountain Baptist Church. Surviving are daughters: Deborah Brown and husband Randy of Forest City, and Theresa D. Stoker of Asheville; grandchildren: Anna Marie Robinson of Forest City, Elisa Flynn and husband David of Forest City, Kiley Beatty and husband Andrew of Asheville, Jason Stoker of Asheville, Randy Brown, Jr. and wife Melissa of Forest City, and Erica Wilhide and husband Brian of Forest City; great grandchildren: Haley Flynn, Jacob Beatty, Aidan Beatty, London Brown, McKenzie Wilhide, Megan Wilhide, Holden Wilhide, and Trevan Wilhide; and numerous nieces and nephews in North Carolina and Massachusetts. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 till 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N.
