Anita Vardiman

Asheville Anita Rene Badgero Vardiman, 49, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Vardiman had most recently served as a manager of Subway Restaurants. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Weaverville. Mrs. Vardiman was the daughter of Sandra Kuykendall Stapleton and husband Hubert Stapleton, and the late Frederick Badgero, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Rodney Vardiman; grandson, Rodney Vardiman, III; and nephew, Frederick Badger, III. In addition to her mother and step-father, surviving are her children: Rodney Vardiman, Jr. (Brittany Christopher) and Ashley Rene Pethel (Tyler); grandchildren: Carson Garland, Christian Pethel, and Austin James Vardiman; fianc, Yamir Bryant; sisters: Melissa Badgero, Danielle Page, and Brenda Badgero; brothers: Frederick Badgero, Jr., Quinton Badgero, and Chris Badgero; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, March 10 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Duane Corle officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 2:00 PM Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
