Angelo Maina

Candler Angelo Edmund Nino Maina, 87, of Candler, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Bronx, NY, Mr. Maina had resided in Buncombe County since 1999. He retired from Allstate Insurance Company as an Insurance Agent, and was of the Catholic faith. He was a veteran of the US Merchant Marines during World War II. Mr. Maina was the son of the late Edmondo and Vincie Cetrangelo Maina. He was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Maina, and a brother, Giulio Maina. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Adele Russell Maina; children: Gail Ling, Edmond Maina, Elise Levy, Cheryl Carballosa, and Kim Messer; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 4 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
