Amy Plemmons

January 11, 1935 — October 31, 2018

Asheville Amy Sue McCall Plemmons, 83, of 29 Olivette Road, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Transylvania County, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1953. She was a member of Boylston Baptist Church. She retired in 2005 from Asheville Elevator following 25 years of service and was formerly employed with Coble Dairy for 20 years. Mrs. Plemmons was a daughter of the late Elbert Rickman McCall and Elvie Hoxit McCall and wife of the late Arizona Jim Plemmons, Jr. who died January 30, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Gayle Lunsford; granddaughter, Bonita Ann Sebastian; 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Cagle, Bonnie Plemmons, Billie Plemmons and Lisa Plemmons all of Asheville; son, Jimmy Plemmons and wife, Trisha of Waynesville; sister, Mary Jane Hoxit of East Flat Rock; brothers, Brownie McCall and wife, Pauline of Hendersonville and Jimmy McCall and wife, Alma of Pisgah Forest; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Chase officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to: Victory Baptist Church Meals Program, 80 Olivette Road, Asheville, NC 28804 or to Boylston Baptist Church, 10642 Boylston Hwy, Mills River, NC 28759.
