Woodfin Adrian Nathanial Ellis,48, of 46 Parkwood Avenue passed away Sunday, February 26, 2006 at his residence following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was employed as Fleet Manager with Metropolitan Sewage District and recently received the Standing Ovation Award from WNC Regional Air Quality Agency for his use of Bio-Diesel Fuel in WNC at MSD. Mr. Ellis was the former Fire Chief for Woodfin Fire Department, a member of Riverside Baptist Church, a 1975 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School and an avid Drag Car Racing Fan and loved model trains. He was the son of Marie Marlow Ellis of Woodfin and the late Charles Ernest Ellis. He was also preceded in death by his best friend, Wayne Davis. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Yvonne Capell Ellis of the home; children, Chris Ellis and wife, Tanya, Jeremy Moore, Dawn Ward and husband, Jonathan, Charity Capell, Stacey Rice and husband, Kevin, Joey Spicer and wife, Melony and Stormy Spicer; grandchildren, Nathan, Dustin, Sarah, Jackson, Katlyn, Tyler, Haley, Eric and Devin; sisters, Cynthia McAbee and husband, Charlie and Nancy Capps; several nieces, a nephew and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Clark E. Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Ward, Joey Spicer, Jason Webb, Jeremy Moore, Travis Green, Mike Ramsey, Stephen Buckner and Paul Wilkes.
