Ada G. Forester

Asheville Ada Elizabeth Gardner Forester, 95, passed away at the Western NC Baptist Home on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Mrs. Forester was born in Hickory, NC on August 18, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Rufus Franklin Gardner and Essie Lucille Hosley Gardner. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ranson Gardner, Jay Gardner and Carl Gardner; also her husband, James M. Forester; son, Richard F. Forester (Geraldine) and great-great granddaughter, Everleigh Cabe. Mrs. Forester worked for many years as a secretary for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Oteen and the Southeastern Forest Experiment Station in Asheville. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth W. Forester (Katie) and Clifton J. Forester (Debbie); 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastors Allen Rash and Dave Aumiller officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
