Ernie was one of the people who sang on our special programs here at the VA. I loved hearing that BIG voice coming out of a GIANT of a man, he was so kind and always had smile. Now he is singing with the heavenly angels and I am sure God is pleased. May heaven smile on the family.

So glad we had the honor of meeting Ernie at the Singin' In The Smokies back a couple of years ago. What a great man and awesome tenor he was. "The Little Giant" surely fit him well. While we are sad that his voice has been silenced here on this earth, we rejoice in knowing that he is now singing Heavenly praises and I will finally have the privilege of singing with Ernie in that Heavenly Choir. Even though we have never met his family, we want them to know that they are in our prayers.
God Bless you,
Earl and Linda Brown

I first got to know Ernie when his school (McKinley Elementary) came to play our school (Harvey) in a game of soft ball. He was so small we all wandered how the left handed kid even throw the ball. McKinley beet us and got back on their bicycles and went home. The state closed both of the one room schools and sent us to Ghent school. Ernie and I went to Ghent school for grades 6th thru the 8th grades. Ernie was my telephone tutor for my algebra classes at Shady High school. After high school I did not see Ernie until the 10 year Shady reunion. The next time we saw each other I contacted Ernie about singing at the church where My wife and were attending. Ernie and Bonnie came and spent the night and sang for our Sunday night service. His song performance was great.
So Long my friend, we will meat again after my life is over.

I am so sorry for the loss of Ernie. What a great tenor singer but more important than that he was a great Christian that lived what he sung and preached about. I have loved and followed Southern Gospel Music all of my life and I am so glad to have been able to listen to Ernie and the Kingsmen Quartet. May GOD Comfort his Family and may they feel GOD'S Love through this time of loss and in the days ahead. Sincerely Charles Dodds

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Ernie at the VA Medical Center for many years and he was a joy to work with. He always had a smile on his face, but the one thing most people will remember about Ernie was his wonderful voice. He sang at so many occasions during his time at the VA and it was such a pleasure to hear that voice. God is receiving a true treasure in Heaven. Bless you.
