For David's family,

I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of David. He was my substance abuse counselor for more than 6 months and I got to develop quite a report with him. He gave me strength and support in so many times of need. He was truly a great man and was honest, straightforward, and genuine. You may or may not know how much of a positive impact he made on so many lives. We are all better for having known him.

Condolences,

Billy

David, you will be missed. I will miss our long talks about our professional goals and career dreams. I will miss that we wont be able to attend some of those workshops we talked attending together in the future. What an inspiration you have been to me and so many others whose lives you touched, if only too briefly. What a beautiful presence you were on this earth. Thank you for your kindness and for your hard work in a profession where you truly made a difference. My thoughts and prayers go out to your friends and family.

Candee, I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I can't think of any words that could offer any comfort at this time other than you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for always being my go-to, down for anything, always willing best Asheville guy friend. (he called me his best Asheville girl friend...lol).

Want to go chant at kirtan? Drive my car to Raleigh? Go to the RV show in Greenville? Let's go thrift at the Flea Market!

No matter what silly idea I came up with to do, I knew you were always in. No questions asked. We had an extremely easy friendship. The type that just worked.

If this happened to someone else, no doubt we'd meet up at Dobra and talk about it for hours. I wish for nothing more than to be able to call you now to talk about it.

But that just isn't the way this story ends. So we'll just keep telling the good stories. Remember the kind smile and big heart. Take care of your momma as you would have wanted as I know there was no one you loved more.

I'll see you again my friend. And believe me you will be getting an ass whooping. Until then, tell my nana I said hello. Early bird dinner is at her place every night at 5:30pm. I know she can't wait to meet you.

I would like to thank all of David's friends who have reached out to me and given me support. You don't know how much it means to me. He would be so thankful that you are taking care of each other during this time and helping to take care of me as well. I feel like I know you all and love you all because David did. He valued every friendship so much.
