Our deepest and sincerest condolences to the family. Words alone can not ease the pain when grieving the loss of a love one. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". May God give you and your family comfort in your loving memories and in His promise that soon we will never experience losing our loved ones in death and we will be able to see them again once they resurrected as per John 5:28-29. May these words give you a new hope, with deepest sympathy and warmth of heart.

Dear Penny and Family-
It was a real joy to care for Mrs. Crayton- what a determined and feisty lady she was! You enabled her to live in the environment that she was most comfortable in for a good long time.
I hope that her last year was a gentle easing for you all.

Please accept my prayers and fond wishes-

We have wonderful memories of times spent with Miss Marietta and Pastor Crayton, we like to call them the Governor & First Lady of Merchant Street. We were part-time neighbors for about 30 great years. Miss Marietta had dancing dark brown eyes (almost black), she loved a good joke, and she could tell a good joke too....oh how those dark eyes danced when she did! We had the pleasure of sitting around her table many, many times while enjoying her good cooking. When we first bought our little house on Merchant Street and were working to make it livable, the Governor and First Lady extended gracious hospitality to us and we stayed with them many, many times until our house was ready. Miss Marietta was always busy making visits with Pastor Lester, cooking, canning, preparing her lesson for Sunday, caring for her flowers and a zillion other things. Once we dug potatoes together, a job I didn't see the point of when potatoes can easily be purchased at Ingles for a lot less work! Every Fall we loved to have a special evening to eat caramel apples and caramel corn together. Miss Marietta attended Bible Study Fellowship for several years in Asheville as we did in Florida, I loved that we had that in common! Through the years, we found her to be a woman of great personal integrity, a woman who loved Jesus, LOVED her family, loved the Word of God, loved to stay current on political issues and loved us. My family and I
miss the Governor & his First Lady but we are
thrilled to know they are finally home.

I have beautiful memories of Mrs. Crayton. I grew up going to Gashes Creek Baptist Church and Mrs. Crayton was not only a Sunday School Teacher she was the GA leader for many years. She would pick several of the girls and I up every Wednesday and take us to the meeting then take us back home. She was always patient and kind. She is in her new Heavenly Home now and I am sure she is very happy!
