Wade Cole

David E Buchanan contributed this message on Sunday, October 6, 2013:

I met Wade when I worked at the Asheville Police Dept. and he worked at the city garage. We became good friends. I was thinking of him just the other day and was saddened to hear of his passing. Wade was a good man and I know many people will miss him a lot, I know I will. My condolences go out to his Family. Times forward will be tough, but by dwelling on the good times and the love he shared with all they will become easier. God Bless All of You during this time.

May bless you and welcome you in his arms Wade. I remember traveling from New Hampshire to North Carolina in the 60's and our families meeting up. The parents would party and we kids would have a great time of our own. What wonderful memories.

Wade and I go back so many years because as cousins from the Asheville area we both ended up in New England with our families (NH and RI) and saw each other a lot as youngsters. I'm so sad to learn of his passing and even sadder when I think of the physical challenges that Wade had to face most of his adult life. I'm sorry we lost touch but I will never forget his laugh and the fun we had many years ago. - Rick Pettit

Wade had significant physical and emotional challenges since 1975 when his leg was crushed. He showed great perseverance, courage and patience as he went through many surgeries and many long recuperations. His glowing smile and a joke or two was always there. The pride of his life are Meredith, Lauren, David and his two grandsons. He loved each of them so very much. Wade is very dear to me and he will be with me in my heart and memories the rest of my life. Love, Aunt Peg

My dearest Wade, where can I begin, my old friend. Since we first met at Vance School, trying out for Babe Ruth baseball, we became the closest of friends. You & I share so many wonderful memories: School, baseball, Charlotte St. park, Malvern Hills Pool (remember when our baseball coach showed up that Sat. morning, and caught us swimming, hahaha). There were our camping trips - where we would tell our parents we were camping in Bent Creek, but ended up at Myrtle Beach, lollol. Oh Wade, we had some fun, and you will always be in my memories. And of course, I left for best for last .. The Band. Man, did we all rock some people's world; and with you kicking those drums, the room rocked with you. And people still remember us Wade, I hear it all the time. For truly now we are ... The Sacred Few. I cherish your memory ... forever. Love you buddy. See you soon.
